I remember arriving to the Orchard House {which is a guest house in New Harmony} to greet the Bride to be on her wedding day. Amanda was in the middle of hair and makeup. She was calm. A good kind of calm. No jitters. No stress. She was surrounded by her favorite people. In her hand was a mimosa. She was gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. Kale and I photographed her wedding details and then I photographed Amanda getting into her fabulous gown and a first look for her to her bridesmaids. She was then handed a letter from Blake by Blakes son. It was a sweet moment for sure. In return, Amanda gave Blake a little notebook with scripture on the front and a sweet love letter inside.
After the love letters were read, these two shared a first look. It was amazing. Amanda had a tear in her eye but Blake just couldn’t stop looking, hugging and kissing his bride.
After we completed all the images of family, wedding party and bride + groom, these two amazing people had a gorgeous outdoor ceremony on the Lake and then a beautiful reception inside the New Harmony Inn. Their guests were seated in white chairs. Beautiful flowers were displayed over a wooden arch. Small mason jars held more florals down the center isle. Down the isle that Amanda would walk to get to Blake, were these cute wooden boards with scripture.
“Love never fails” was written on one board. I held my breath for a moment because right then and there was an amazing reminder for myself in my own marriage. It took me a second to get back with the program.
I will never forget Amanda’s father giving her away. He showed his whole heart in front of everyone. Amanda’s father not only hugged her, but he squeezed her, kissed her cheek, gave her another hug and then kissed her forehead. That single moment was filled with so much love my heart literally was going to explode!
It was an amazing ceremony and an amazing reception. Amanda’s family is from Dubai. I’ve never been there and I have never met anyone else from there but I am telling you these people can dance! All the dancing was so interesting and fabulous. It wasn’t like your all American dancing. This was something else. It was a contest. It was on! It was amazing!
Amanda and Blake’s wedding was just perfect. It was an amazing mix of their personalities combined. Loved every minute being there and I’m still just so excited for both of them.
Blake and Amanda,
I know how lucky I am that you chose me to enjoy these moments with you both. I am honored. Truly blessed to have been the one to capture your special day. I had so much fun! The food was amazing. The dancing and just being able to see all of the amazing people having so much fun. I am so excited for the journey you two have ahead. Thank you for being so kind and thoughtful from the day we met. I have had so much fun. Best wishes to you both!!

Set your budget The first thing you really need to do is set your wedding photography budget. This will allow you to know where you are before inquiring. One of the most common mistakes brides make {from my own experience and what I hear in the wedding world} is that brides inquire without really knowing […]
