Peter and Karla had such a romantic and colorful wedding in Columbus, Indiana this past summer. We’ve shared some sneak peeks but had to hold off blogging this gorgeous summer wedding until it was officially featured over on Grey Likes Weddings. This wedding was one of my all time favorites and for so many reasons!
Karla is from Chile and when she started planning her big day, she knew she would infuse a lot of her culture. From the beautiful bold colors to the hand made shot jars that read Karla y Peter! She wanted a gorgeous church ceremony and an outdoor reception. Lots of music and dancing. Lots and lots of culture throughout.
These two started off at the Hotel Indigo. Separate rooms and no first look. Karla enjoyed getting pampered by her bridesmaids while Peter enjoyed a pre-ceremony drink with his best guys. He also read a sincere letter from Karla before leaving to head to the church. This moment was amazing – Peter doesn’t show a ton of emotion but when he read the letter, I watch his eyes light up. This girl was the one and he couldn’t be more happy to be marrying her on this special day. The ceremony itself was a tear jerker and the vows, the ring exchange and the kiss were witnessed by her family and closest friends. They celebrated their marriage with a lavender toss outside of the church before hugging and taking off in a red sports car!
When everyone arrived at the Lake House, they enjoyed some amazing cocktails, mingling and laughing. This was an outdoor party for sure. There was lots of prayer before dinner and so many tears. Tears of joy that these two people found each other and found a one of a kind love. To celebrate with family and friends. To share cultures from two amazing places in this world. To be surrounded by love and commitment through and through…This day was the best day ever for them and Becca and I were so honored to be the ones to capture it all.

✅ 1. Set Boundaries With Your Calendar No more saying yes to everything. I only take a set number of weddings per year and I block off weekends for my family, rest, or personal creative projects. I also don’t love working on Sundays {I love going to church and spending that day with my family and friends} so […]

The setting was serene, the light was dreamy, and every detail—from […]
…Because protecting your business should never be optional. When I booked my first wedding, I pieced together a contract from Google and prayed it covered everything. Spoiler alert: it didn’t. 🙈 A solid contract is more than just a formality—it’s the foundation of a smooth, professional client experience and your best protection when things don’t go as […]
