No more saying yes to everything. I only take a set number of weddings per year and I block off weekends for my family, rest, or personal creative projects. I also don’t love working on Sundays {I love going to church and spending that day with my family and friends} so I give myself the freedom to say no when someone asks.
Tip: Pre-plan your “off” weekends just like you’d book a client. I’ve found this to be so helpful and when I truly plan that weekend, it’s so much easier to say no.
Instead of rewriting the same answers over and over, I use email templates. It saves mental energy and makes my business feel more polished. It also helps me to stay much more pro-active!

✅ 3. Outsource Where You Can
Outsourcing doesn’t mean you’re lazy. It means you’re scaling smart. When you can afford to put these systems into place, do it slowly but then let it go. You do not have to be in charge of everything all the time! Your future self will thank you {and if applicable – your family too}!
Whether it’s a CRM, an editing workflow, or an automated email reply — having systems in place creates white space in your life.
Tip: Write down your most time-consuming tasks. What can be automated or simplified?
This was a hard one for me. I used to wait until I was at my breaking point to take a break. Now? I plan margin into my week, whether it’s a slow morning where I don’t start working until 10am, a walk around my neighborhood, or a no-work kinda day where I do some self-care.
Protecting your energy isn’t selfish — it’s essential for longevity in this type of business. The real burn-out happens before we even realize it. It catches up with us quickly and can make us dislike doing business at all. I’ve seen it 100 times and have experienced it myself friends. It sucks. I know.
